Professor Ellen Williams, a key figure in Maryland NanoCenter, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Williams has led Maryland's NSF Materials Research Science and Engineering Center as Director since its inception. She is internationally recognized for her innovative research in atomic-scale techniques and observations of surface phenomena and their implications for fundamental physical and chemical behavior.
