Research Engineer/Scientist - University Technical Services Inc.

Established in 2020 as a separate UTS division (ARED) that provides advanced engineering and development expertise across a broad range of technical fields. ARED envisions and innovates revolutionary technical approaches and applies those innovations in program efforts evidenced by providing operational prototypes. ARED works in collaboration with industry partners to bring these innovations to market. We are staffed by PhD level employees averaging 30 years expertise. Our expertise includes Algorithm Development, Image Processing, Advanced Networking, Cyber security, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Signals Security, Aviation & Avionics testing, System Modeling and Simulation, and Signal Processing.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Proven research experiences in any area of computer science and engineering, including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), wireless communication, computer vision, cyber security, and embedded systems.
  • Good programming and scripting skills using Python, Matlab, C++, Java, and/or other modern languages.
  • Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR).
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency: Green Card is required.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
  • Experience with SDR programming software such as GNURadio or Matlab.
  • Experience with proposal writing.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct Research and Development in related areas.
  • Design, implement, and test software and hardware prototype.
  • Summarize research results, write research reports and proposals.
