Researchers in the MEMS Sensors and Actuators Lab (MSAL) have decided to show how 'Little' school spirit they have! Using their cutting edge "gray scale" fabrication technology for creating arbitrary three-dimensional shapes in silicon (the material used to make computer chips), they have shrunk their beloved Testudo the Terp to the size of a human hair! The original bitmap pattern was manipulated using customized software to turn each color into a different height in silicon, so after fabrication - The Micro-Testudo was born!
