Nanocenter member Min Ouyang has designed the course for advanced undergraduates and graduate students in physics, chemistry and engineering with interest in the evolving interdisciplinary field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. It will emphasize both fundamental principles (physics and chemistry)at the nanoscale and bench-top nanoscale experimental techniques including nanomaterial synthesis, characterization and simple nanodevice fabrications. Students will have opportunities to quickly learn foundations and exciting advances of the field.

The course, offered Tuesdays from 2 to 6PM in the fall, will consist of lectures and five or six experimental projects. Interested students must have a basic knowledge of quantum physics, as well as a basic knowlege of introductory chemistry.
