The College of Chemical and Life Sciences presented Sang Bok Lee with the Faculty Excellence Award for Junior Faculty in May. Dr. Lee has distinguished himself in all aspects of research, teaching and service since his arrival at UMD in 2003. Dr. Lee and his group have published 13 papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals with four more papers submitted for publication. Because of the high visibility of his work both nationally and internationally, Dr. Lee has been invited as a speaker, plenary speaker or discussion participant at many prestigious conferences and symposia. He was also a recent recipient of the KIChe-US (Korean Institute of Chemical Engineering-United States) Outstanding Young Investigator Award.
