DNA's molecular recognition properties have made it one of the mostly widely used macromolecular construction materials. The programmable assembly of DNA oligonucleotides has been used to create complex 2- and 3-D architectures, devices, and circuits. This type of nucleic acid engineering is reaching a critical mass in the Mid-Atlantic region, and being aware of each others' work will help foment collaboration and accelerate discovery. The goal of this symposium is to spend a day discovering the types nucleic acid nanotechnology research that is going on in the Mid-Atlantic region and to provide a forum for researchers to think about new areas of discovery. After a highly successful event last year at Johns Hopkins University, this years event will be held at the University of Maryland College Park.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided thanks to generous donations from the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and the University of Maryland Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Draft schedule/program:

Symposium Introduction, 9:20-9:30

Session I, 9:30-10:50

Session II, 11:20-12:40
