Distinguished University of Maryland Professor, Ellen Williams, is the principal investigator for the new program that will aid in efforts of developing tools for development and manufacturing at the nano scale. UMD and NIST have a history of research collaborations starting with an agreement to broaden collaborations in 2003 and continuing this year with a joint effort to create the UM-NIST Center for Nanomanufacturing and Metrology. The current new program further demonstrates the growing relationship between the two organizations and their dedication to the future of nano science. UMD Newsdesk article NIST announcement
