Assistant Physics Professor and NanoCenter member Min Ouyang will receive funds over a three-year period to conduct research on his proposal "Toward Molecular Spintronics: Organic Chiral Spin Valve & Optical Activated Spin Switch Devices."
The Young Investigator Program honors outstanding new faculty members, at institutions of higher education, to support their research and encourage their teaching and research career. Applicants are selected by ONR based on several things including past performance, demonstrated by the significance and impact of previous research, publications, professional activities and awards and honors. The highly competitive award is offered by the Office of Naval Research and is typically granted to only ten percent of applicants.
