PEPS evaluation board solution based on NXP S32K116 & PJF7992

PEPS (Passive Entry & Passive Start System) keyless entry and keyless start system, this technology is widely used in vehicle access control keyless entry system, vehicle keyless start system, electric motorcycle proximity detection system and other application fields, to bring users a new experience that is both convenient and comfortable.

The main functions of the PEPS application are:

  • PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) Passive Keyless Entry
  • RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) Remote Keyless Entry
  • IMMO (Immobilizer) anti-theft control system

The PEPS evaluation board scheme introduced in this article is mainly used to implement IMMO functions. Two development boards are used in this sub-case, namely the main control board based on NXP S32K116 and the low-frequency driver board based on NXP PJF7992. The main control board can drive OLED screens, LED lights, and user buttons. It is equipped with CAN, LIN, and UART connections. It is compatible with two unified high and low frequency interfaces and supports J-Link debugging. The low-frequency driver board is connected to an external antenna, which is both a transmitting antenna and a receiving antenna. When the battery is exhausted, it is charged close to the antenna through mutual inductance, which can achieve low-frequency authentication, thereby realizing the IMMO function in PEPS applications.
