Supported Platforms This version of the Setup supports the development of application for the following platforms: Windows 95 and later Windows NT 4.0 and later Additional Functionality Supported Twain MCI Image Pro Optimas Important note for Windows 95 users: You must first install the Savage3D Windows 95 display drivers prior to running any programs supplied on the FlashPoint installation diskettes, or prior to running any applications which you have created using the Setup. Important note for Windows NT users: FlashPoint 3D does not support Windows NT versions under 4.0. You must first install the Savage3D Windows NT 4.0 display drivers prior to running any programs supplied on the FlashPoint installation diskettes, or prior to running any applications which you have created using the Setup. =========================================================================== Installation Windows 95 Enter Windows 95. If windows detects new hardware, select "Disk provided by manufacturer." Insert the display driver disk and browse to find the proper .inf file. To install the FlashPoint3D display driver, go to the display properties in the control panel. Select the settings tab and click advanced properties. Click the change button and select "Have disk". Insert the disk in drive a: or select the path of the display drivers and click ok. Once installed, color depth, resolution, and monitor frequency can be changed by clicking the right mouse button over the desktop, selecting "Properties", and changing items under the "Settings" tab. Install the FlashPoint3D setup by running the SETUP.EXE program on the floppy #1. Follow any instructions given by the installer. Windows NT Enter Windows NT. (Ver 4.0 and above) Install the FlashPoint 3D display driver, by the doing the following: Boot into Window NT under VGA mode. Click the right mouse button over the desktop to bring up the desktop menu. Select the "Properties" menu item and change to the "Settings" tab. Click the "Display Type" button. Click the "Change" and select "Have Disk". Insert the display driver disk in drive a: or type the path of the display drivers and click ok. Driver will now be installed. Follow any additional instructions from the installer. Once installed, color depth, resolution, and monitor frequency can be changed by clicking the right mouse over the desktop, selecting "Properties", and changing items under the "Settings" tab. Install the FlashPoint 3D setup by running the SETUP.EXE program on the floppy #1. Follow any instructions given by the installer. =========================================================================== Components FlashPoint MCI overlay driver (16 bit) -------------------------------------- This driver is used to provide video overlay capabilities to Windows applications that can talk to a hardware device via the Microsoft MCI protocol. FlashPoint NT MCI overlay driver (32 bit) -------------------------------------- This driver is used to provide video overlay capabilities to Windows NT applications that can talk to a hardware device via the Microsoft MCI protocol. This driver cannot be used under Windows 95. Windows 95 uses the 16 bit driver for both 16 and 32 bit apps. FlashPoint TWAIN driver (16 bit) -------------------------------- This driver is used to capture images from within Windows applications that support the TWAIN interface. See the TWAIN.TXT file in the TWAIN subdirectory for more information. FlashPoint TWAIN32 driver (32 bit) -------------------------------- This driver is used to capture images from within Windows applications that support the TWAIN interface. This driver works with 32 bit applications under Windows 95 or Windows NT FPG3D Capture Application (16 and 32 bit) ---------------------------------------- This application is used to display video-in-a-window under Windows and to load and save captured video to various file formats. VIDOUT Application (32 bit) --------------------------- This application will allow FlashPoint 3D Pro users to configure the board's video output. The settings made in this program will become the defualt configuration.
